Before We Fly
Airspace, permits, footage rights and delivery — the answers clients ask for, before they have to ask.Do I need a permit for a drone shoot at my property?
Usually not for your own property. We handle the airspace side — checking restrictions and obtaining authorization where it's needed. You handle permission for the location itself: if it's your home or business, that's simply you saying yes; if it's a leased space, venue or HOA community, we'll tell you exactly what approval to ask for.
Can you legally fly in Los Angeles? It seems restricted.
Much of LA sits under layered controlled airspace from LAX, Santa Monica, Hollywood Burbank and other airports — which is why every shoot starts with an airspace check. Many areas are flyable as-is; others need an authorization we arrange before the shoot date. If a location can't be flown legally, we'll tell you before you spend a dollar. More detail on our Los Angeles page.
What about neighbors and privacy?
We plan flight paths over the subject property, not the neighborhood, keep sensible distances, and never linger over adjacent homes. For shoots in tight residential areas we're happy to give neighbors a heads-up window so nobody is surprised by a drone.
Who owns the footage?
You receive a broad, permanent license to use your delivered films and photos for personal and business marketing — web, listings, social, ads. The studio retains the underlying copyright and may feature project work in its portfolio unless we agree otherwise in writing before the shoot. The fine print lives in our terms.
Can you add music to the film?
We deliver clean, broadcast-ready edits. If you have music you're licensed to use, we'll cut the film to it. We don't supply third-party music tracks ourselves.
Can you fly at night or indoors?
Twilight and dusk — the most cinematic light of the day — are absolutely on the menu, and we schedule around golden hour constantly. Full-dark night operations and indoor flying are special cases: tell us what you have in mind and we'll give you a straight answer on feasibility.
How fast do we get our footage?
Delivery within 14 days on Mini Flight and Signature Story, and priority 10-day delivery on the Epic Package — through a private online gallery with full-quality downloads.
Do we get the raw footage?
Raw footage is included with the Epic Package. On other packages, ask us — it can usually be arranged as an add-on.
What does a shoot cost?
Flat-rate packages run from $499 to $2,499, with custom quotes for bigger productions. Everything is itemized on the pricing page, and quotes are free.
