Los Angeles, From Above
The most filmed city on earth — and still, almost nobody sees it from where we do.LA is hard to fly. That's the point.
Los Angeles sits under some of the most layered airspace in the country. LAX's approach corridors stretch across the Westside, Santa Monica's airport shapes the sky over the beach cities, and Hollywood Burbank, Van Nuys and Long Beach each carve out their own controlled zones. Add temporary restrictions for stadium events and wildfires, and "just send the drone up" is not a plan.
That complexity is exactly why we exist. Every Above the Story shoot starts before the shoot: we check the airspace over your exact location, secure authorization where it's required, and design a flight plan that gets the shot legally and safely. Many LA locations are flyable as-is. Others need an authorization we arrange ahead of your date. And if a location genuinely can't be flown, we tell you before you've spent a dollar — with alternatives that can.
You never have to learn any of this. That's what you're hiring.
Where we fly
Based in Beverly Hills, flying across Greater Los Angeles.
The Westside
Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Venice, Pacific Palisades — estate and listing country, where aerials sell the property and the neighborhood in one shot.
The Hills & Hollywood
Hollywood Hills, West Hollywood, Los Feliz, the canyons — architecture on slopes that ground-level cameras simply cannot explain.
Coast & Beyond
Malibu to the South Bay, Downtown to the valleys — and for the right project, we pack the gear and travel beyond Greater LA (travel fee, quoted up front).
Not sure your location is flyable? Send us the address — we'll check the airspace and tell you straight.
