Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell it.

Effective date: August 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Above the Story ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Beverly Hills, California, handles information in connection with AboveTheStory.com (the "Site") and our drone videography services (the "Services").

Information We Collect

  • Information you give us. When you contact us — through the Site's contact form or by email — we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, project location, and project details.
  • Automatic information. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations.
  • Fonts. The Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts; your browser's request to Google's servers is subject to Google's privacy policy.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not set marketing cookies, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information — ever.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, and schedule and deliver projects.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site and Services.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including aviation regulations.

Footage and Shoots

Aerial photography and videography may incidentally capture people, vehicles, or property in and around a shoot location. By booking a shoot, you confirm you have the right to authorize filming at the location. We may use footage and images from client projects in our portfolio and promotional materials unless we agree otherwise in writing before the shoot.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us operate (for example, web hosting and email providers), when required by law, or to protect our legal rights. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data Retention

We keep inquiry and project information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, then delete it in the ordinary course of business.

Your California Rights

California residents may request access to, or deletion of, personal information we hold about them, and will not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us using the details on our contact page. We honor legitimate requests within the timeframes required by California law. The Site does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because it does not track visitors across other sites.

Children's Privacy

The Site is a business website intended for adults booking videography services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable measures to protect information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
